Tomas Gorny, 47, Co-Founder & CEO of Nextiva, was born in communist Poland in the mid-1970's. But at the age of 7, he had his sights set on coming to the United States to become an entrepreneur. He would watch American movies and TV shows to connect with the U.S. growing up, but to get there would take hard work and determination. At the age of 14, Tomas moved to Germany and rode the wave of the PC revolution. It was a pivotal moment in his life and thought that it was going to become the next big thing around the world. He started a couple of businesses while he was in college, delivering personalized PC services to people's homes. While he was doing a mandatory internship, his manager was moving to the United States to start a website hosting company. Tomas immediately jumped on the opportunity to move to the U.S. in 1996 to join Internet Communication. While working for the company, Tomas was paid in sweat equity. So he had to take other work to make some money on the side, living on $3 a day and working nights parking cars, cleaning carpets at restaurants and apartment buildings, and doing various waiter jobs at different events. He even learned how to speak English while working nights. About 4 years later, Tomas' hard work paid off and he became a multi-millionaire overnight. However, he would lose his fortune and had to start from scratch again in 2001, only having $6,000 left in his stock that he had to liquidate. 00:00 - Intro 00:25 - Growing Up 01:26 - Moving To Germany 02:26 - The American Dream In Motion 03:29 - Working Side Jobs 04:19 - Building Credit 05:20 - Selling The Business 06:25 - Losing His Millions 07:34 - Creating IPOWER 08:33 - Outro Subscribe to Fortune - http://www.youtube.com/subscription_c...
