Take a peaceful, scenic drive with us through the beautiful Scottish Highlands as we explore the historic town of Culloden and the charming coastal village of Rosemarkie. Culloden is best known as the site of the Battle of Culloden in 1746, the final clash of the Jacobite uprising. Today, it’s a place of reflection and history, and a popular tourist spot thanks to the popular TV show Outlander. Just driving through, you can sense the depth of the past and the beauty of the landscape all around you. From there, we head toward the Moray Firth coast to Rosemarkie, a seaside village that dates back to Pictish times. Rosemarkie is home to some of the finest Pictish stones ever found, many of which are on display at the Groam House Museum. The village also boasts one of the oldest Christian sites in Scotland and a gorgeous beach where dolphins are often spotted! This drive is all about soaking up the quiet beauty of the Highlands, one of our favourite places in the world - the green fields, historic buildings, coastal views, and small-town charm.
