Present Continuous Tense The Present Continuous Tense is used to express actions that are happening right now, at the moment of speaking, or temporary actions happening around the current period. It can also indicate future plans. Types: 1️⃣ Assertive (Affirmative) States an action that is happening now or around now. Structure: Subject + is/are/am + verb(-ing) Examples: I am reading a book. She is playing football. They are studying for exams. 2️⃣ Negative Denies an action happening at present. Structure: Subject + is/are/am + not + verb(-ing) Examples: He is not watching TV. We are not going to school today. I am not sleeping. 3️⃣ Interrogative Asks a question about an action happening now. Structure: Is/Are/Am + subject + verb(-ing) + ? Examples: Are you coming to the party? Is she writing a letter? Am I disturbing you? Summary: The Present Continuous Tense shows actions that are happening at the moment of speaking, temporary actions, or planned future events. Its three main forms are Assertive, Negative, and Interrogative.
