Audio: "I Turn My Camera On" by Spoon Footage: Amagi Brilliant Park, K-ON, Free, Beyond the Boundary, Tamako Market, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya This video is a pseudo-sequel to Neapolitan, my 2015 Masters video. After winning that contest and ascending to Valhalla, I realized I'd never actually listened to anything by Spoon outside of that album (Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga). So I picked up Gimme Fiction, and after the first listen I knew I had to do something with this song, although it took this long to get around to it. The elephant in the room: A different version of this video went out to conventions at the time where the 'ignite' line was swapped out. The reason being that I was 85 percent complete with this video when the Kyoani fire occurred. Had I just started, I probably would have dropped the entire project completely and forgotten about it. At this point I figure enough time has gone by where this is not a huge concern but I at least wanted to acknowledge the rather unfortunate association. Year of the Cat part ???: So, that does it for 2019. My plan was to go much harder than I did on editing projects, and then...I don't know, quit? I'm not entirely sure. What actually happened was I got myself burned out midway through the year and had to take a long break, which meant that I didn't get around to any of the high concept bucket list videos I wanted to do. I guess I'll keep at it and...I don't know, figure it out when I get to 2021. Anyway, enjoy. And look forward to the weirder stuff next year, for better or worse.
