Constantin Brancusi was a well-known Romanian and French sculptor, painter, and photographer, also considered the patriarch of modern sculpture. He was born in a Southern village in Romania, Hobita near the city of Targu Jiu. From an early age he was passionate about carving wooden farm tools so he started to pursue this passion first in Craiova, the biggest city nearby at The School of Arts and Crafts and later in the capital of Romania, Bucharest. Brancusi started his career firstly in Munich just for a short time because he moved to Paris, where he started the revolutionary style he is best known for. Although he lived most of his life in Paris, he remained a patriot and one of the best ambassadors of Romania. He became very famous in France, Romania, and the United States. His work can be seen at the Romanian Art Museum, in Targu Jiu or you can find you can see online the exhibition dedicated to him at the MOMA, New York find it below: https://www.moma.org/artists/738?loca.... In the city of Targu Jiu, Constantin Brancusi has created in a public garden the famous ensemble “Path of Heroes” in the honor of the fallen heroes during WW1. Here you can admire sculptures such as the Gate of the Kiss, Alley of Chairs, Table of Silence, and the Infinity Column also known as the Endless Column.
