0:00 標題 Title 0:06 樂譜復原概要 Summary of the Restoration Process 0:28 復原樂曲演奏 Featured Performance 5:43 片末 End Credits Jade Tree & Blossoms in the Rear Yard (玉樹後庭花; Yù-shù Hòu-tíng-huā) was originally a song composed by Chén Hòu-zhǔ (陳後主), the last emperor of the Chén Dynasty (陳朝; 557-589) during the North-and-South Dynasties period (南北朝; 420-589). Historically, this piece was seen to promote "indulgence and decadence". Thus, following the downfall of the Chén Dynasty, Jade Tree & Blossoms in the Rear Yard was considered "the music that destroys nations (亡國之音; wáng-guó-zhī-yīn)". During the Táng Dynasty, this piece was part of the "Qīng-shāng Yuè (清商樂)" - one of nine (later ten) major court repertories consisted of music of Hàn-Chinese origin. Later on, the rise in popularity of "foreign music (胡樂; hú-yuè)" led to the decline of "Qīng-shāng Yuè" and the melody of this piece was gradually forgotten. The oldest surviving scores of Jade Tree & Blossoms in the Rear Yard include the zhēng score from Jinchi-yōroku (仁智要錄) and the pípá score from Sango-yōroku (三五要錄), both set in Yuè diào (越調) or Mixolydian mode on D. Using the two scores as the basis, other surviving scores written for the wind instruments were also consulted to reconstruct the music in entirety. Furthermore, the instrumentation of the current rendition is based on descriptions of "Qīng-shāng Yuè" from the Old Book of Táng (舊唐書; Jiù-táng-shū). These include various winds and strings of Han-Chinese origin and percussion instruments such as the tuned bells (編鐘; biān-zhōng) and tuned stone chimes (編磬; biān-qìng). 《玉樹後庭花》,原為南陳末期陳後主所創詞曲,其詞「豔麗輕蕩」,及後陳朝覆滅而被視為「亡國之音」。唐朝時,《玉樹後庭花》為九、十部樂之「清商樂」(自三國以來的漢族傳統音樂)中的一曲,同時又作為教坊散樂及詞曲表演,其後因胡樂盛行而「清商樂」被冷落,《玉樹後庭花》的旋律亦漸被遺忘。 現存《玉樹後庭花》最早樂譜有載於《仁智要錄》的箏譜及《三五要錄》的琵琶譜,屬越調(壱越調),今以此兩樂譜為基礎,再參考其他樂器譜本以復原全曲。另外亦據《舊唐書》有關「十部樂」之一「清商樂」的描述,在配器上採用了中原傳統管弦及編鐘、編磬等樂器,有別於唐樂中常用、源自龜兹樂的胡樂器。
