The Gambia national Audit Office (NAO) records that the failure to embed the fee into tickets resulted in manual cash collection at the terminal. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) letter to government in May 2023, via Kashif Khalid, said the process is “flawed” and not aligned withthe International Civil Aviatio Organisation (ICAO) user charges principles in Doc 9082.
