Sean DuBois will join us for an update on the Pion project, an open source WebRTC implementation in Go which he started and maintains, and has seen significant growth in popularity and use in the last few years. Sean will share updates on the latest enhancements to Pion, interesting use cases like robotics and telehealth, and the challenges of using WebRTC in larger enterprise environments. He’ll also discuss a project with Matrix on an API for a cascading SFU architecture that would allow you to choose between many different open source media servers. Sean DuBois works as a Developer at Twitch, where he has helped Twitch to implement Pion in their live streaming solutions. Prior to that he was worked as a Developer at Apple, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Lightstream, all in different types of real time communications roles. Sean has become a leading advocate for open source in the WebRTC community through his work as the creator of the Pion.ly project, as well as other WebRTC knowledge sharing projects such as WebRTCWork.com and WebRTCForTheCurious.com.
