Fleet Focus Part 1: Southern Class 313s on the South Coastway The Class 313 is one of the oldest passenger trains left in public service in the UK, having been new in 1976-77 these trains are now incredibly over 45 years old and still performing well, unfortunately as new trains enter service the resulting cascades will likely see these brilliant workhorses be finally withdrawn from service. With this in mind while on a week trip on the south coast I decided to film the examples with Southern on the two sections of the South Coastway route where they are to be found, Seaford and Brighton and Brighton and Portsmouth & Southsea as well as a few appearances on the short service between Bognor Regis and Barnham.
