Hello everyone, Ackerlady is back to basic with a divine selection of jazz and house! The week I performed here was during the most politically sensitive time this country has ever been in a while. People in my hometown got to evacuate to avoid the war tension and I followed the news with constant worry and panic. However, I was still here to perform and worked on my mix because mixing music and being physically with people is the best way to heal me at this moment. I need to keep making art and make people happy as hell as a form or rebellion while I still have privilege to do so. Therefore, this set is about batshit happy jazz, the jazz that brings green grass and blue sky to your soul, it's time to go outside with this mix and enjoy the community instead of stay behind the keyboard spreading nationalism hatred. With this set during this critical time, I want to show that politics is not only about stress or taking things seriously and bringing it up shouldn't ruin the mood if you care for lives. We should feel fully entitled to have fun while still aware of what's not right and what could be better. I believe that the art made from ignorant minds will only contribute nothing and harm someone. On the other hand, being ultra politically correct about everything to the point you can't be happy with your life is not a way either. So physically participating in the community and vibe with whatever in front of us is a way to understand the nature of human and a key to approach politics.
