In this fix it video we're taking a look at a Lagomarsino Numeria model 9203, vintage mechanical calculator, made in Italy in the 1950s or 60s. I bought this machine to use for spare parts but it seemed a shame not to at least try to repair it, so the project began........ Everything was seized solid, many of the key tops were missing or disintegrating, there was a broken wheel indexing spring pin in the counter register and it looked like the machine had spent some time underwater!!! In this video we'll get the main mechanism freed off and working and dismantle the keyboard to repair some internal damage. In Part Two we'll dismantle the carriage containing the counter and output registers - You can see that video here: • Vintage Mechanical Calculator - Lagomarsin... In Part Three we'll finish the machine by replacing the 101 key tops, clearing handle and the perished rubber feet, followed by a demonstration of how the machine works. You can see that video here: • Vintage Mechanical Calculator Rescue - Lag... Parts of the Lagomarsino are relatively similar to some Monroe mechanical calculators so bits of this video could be of use if you're repairing one of those machines too.
