A torchbearer of a rich musical lineage, Shri Prabir Banerjee is the son of Sangeetacharya Late Nilratan Banerjee. He received his classical training under Sri Kamal Pandit, Pt. Barun Kumar Paul, and Pt. Santosh Kumar Banerjee. Expanding beyond traditional boundaries, he also learnt Spanish Guitar under Deepak Adhikari and synthesizer under Gautam Chowdhury — shaping his distinctive classical-fusion sound. This concert was organized by his own academy - Prabir Banerjee Music Academy at Sarat Sadan, Behala (Kolkata, India), where he presented a special program blending multiple ragas. The present video features his expressive and emotive interpretation of Raag Kirwani in a contemporary fusion style. Kirwani is known for its deep, introspective, and meditative mood — and this rendition explores both its classical purity and modern musical textures.
