Mostly Shiite Muslims took to the streets across the region. At one demonstration in Srinagar, protesters were seen carrying a portrait of Khamenei. Iranian state media reported Khamenei's death early Sunday, after a major attack launched by Israel and the United States. U.S. President Donald Trump said hours earlier that Khamenei had been killed in the joint operation.
