Today I’m sharing a traditional Obbattu (Holige) recipe that is soft, tasty, and easy to make at home. This classic South Indian sweet is prepared with chana dal, jaggery, and maida flour, making it perfect for festivals like Ugadi and special occasions. Ingredients: half kg ಕಡಲೆಬೇಳೆ (chanadal) half kg ಮುದ್ದೆ ಬೆಲ್ಲ (round jaggery) half kg ಮೈದಾ ಹಿಟ್ಟು ( Maida) ಅರಿಶಿನ (Turmeric) Half ತೆಂಗಿನಕಾಯಿ (coconut 🥥) 5 to 6 ಏಲಕ್ಕಿ (Cardamom) First wash dal and add 5 to 6 glass of water and cook it in cooker, then make water seperate, take half kg of jaggery, in medium flame to cooker add jaggery with dal, cook it in medium flame, add Elakki powder and mix it well, then add grated coconut to it and mix it well should come in som consistency then take it in a plate let it be cool for sometime. by the time take half kg maida add turmeric add little little water and mix it well add some cooking oil also at last add 1 spoon cooking oil and make it close half an hour. here take mixi jar and grinder dal ful softly. so Obbattu oorana is ready, now take small amount of maida hittu make it round shape then press it in the middle take little oorana and keep it in middle and close with maida, then as I shown in vedio make round shape, then cook both the side using tawa.
