Kalasin (Thai: กาฬสินธุ์) is a town (thesaban mueang) in northeast Thailand, the capital of Kalasin Province. Kalasin began to be established as a city in 1793 when Thao Sompamitra and his army migrated to take refuge from the land on the left bank of the Mekong River. The original name was "Ban Kaeng Samrong". Later it was raised to the status of a city. Later, it was raised to the status of a city by King Rama I who gave it the name "Muang Kalasin". It has been an important city in history since ancient times. "Kalasin" means "black" and "Sindhu" means "water". Kalasin therefore means "black water". Kalasin is a charming town, rich in cultural heritage and history, filled with temples, art-filled cafes and local markets worth exploring. 00:00:00 Intro + Map 00:00:34 Kut Nam Kin Public Park 00:01:43 Thung Na Thong Fresh Market 00:03:08 The Edible Gallery Kalasin 00:04:40 Ban Nanachat Coffee & English Camp 00:06:01 Buddhabhumi Garden 00:06:22 Wat Prachaniyom 00:07:17 Wat Tai Pho Kham 00:08:31 cafe de' SUPAK 00:09:04 Kalasin Art Museum 00:12:16 Ponglang Roundabout 00:13:11 Phraya Chaisunthon Monument 00:14:05 Homeowner's Hall 00:15:34 Lak Muang Film 00:17:16 Wat Klang Royal Monastery 00:19:15 Ban Din 00:20:14 City Pillar Shrine 00:20:44 Wat Nuea 00:21:48 Kaeng Don Klang Public Park 00:23:26 The Ricemill Market #travel #thailand #kalasin
