Amazon allows you to have a pen name, but they do sometimes issue rejections for 'misleading keywords' in author name. I've heard of people being rejected for words like 'birthday', and 'gift' and I have had one rejection for a name that included the word 'Girls.' I'm trying to learn more about what CreateSpace consider keywords, but it is probably safest to avoid using generic words in your brand name as is very common on Merch. I'm veering more towards using made-up words these days, so if in doubt, use a name that sounds like a name :)
