Taking the idea of the Garden as a starting point, choreographers Antonio de Rosa and Mattia Russo have reimagined it as a space for synesthesia – where the senses become blended and the distinctions between them fade. Inspired by Victor Hugo’s concept of the garden as “sometimes impenetrable like a forest, yet populated like a city, » they reimagine it as a microcosm in the truest sense, containing the outside world and reflecting it back to us in miniature. In line with the metaphor of the garden as a "liminal" space, this choreographic work explores the liminality of the body, a transitional place that surpasses gender and nationality differences. Mattia Russo, and Antonio De Rosa /KOR’SIA focus on the human essence, creating a scenic space where true richness resides in the other, free from negative distinctions. New rules emerge based on courage, where the sole value is being oneself, constructing a novel "scenic nation" where diversity is celebrated, and each individual is free to explore their identity.
