Former U.S. President Donald Trump lashed out at UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer over Britain’s Iran policy, saying he is “not happy with the UK” and adding, “this is not Winston Churchill we’re dealing with.” In a dramatic political shift, Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Ali Khamenei, has reportedly taken office as Iran’s Supreme Leader after appointment by the Assembly of Experts, in what critics are calling a controversial succession under IRGC pressure. Meanwhile, Iran struck Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East with a ballistic missile. No casualties have been reported. Israel retaliated with strikes on weapons production sites across Iran, with Tehran’s Mehrabad Airport also reportedly hit. Markets reacted sharply. The BSE Sensex plunged over 1,500 points, while the NIFTY 50 dropped around 450 points. Global equities slid and the Indian rupee hit record lows amid mounting geopolitical uncertainty. Amid the crisis, SpiceJet launched eight special rescue flights from the UAE on March 4 including four to Delhi, three to Mumbai, and one to Kochi to bring stranded Indians home safely.
