SebArt Mytho S 125E After sitting on the sidelines at our local Pattern Contests over the past few years, it was this plane that pushed me over the edge to give it a try. Just slightly smaller than a full 2 meter Pattern ship, she comes in at a fraction of the price. What tipped the scales for me is that this built up ARF was much less expensive, uses less expensive components and best of all, can run on 8s allowing me to use my healthy supply of 4s lipos. (She also runs great on 6s) Given that many of the 2 meter composite Pattern Ships cost 5k or more to build, I couldn't afford to give pattern flying a go only to find out I didn't care for it. My options for a less expensive plane were this one and the 2 meter Extreme Flight Vanquish. The Vanquish is an awesome plane but runs on the typical 10s platform used by the other 2 meter ships. It was the ability to use batteries I already owned that tipped the scale, that and the reputation for the build quality of SebArt. Kevin had his Mytho S 125 E at a recent pattern event and I spent a lot of time looking the plane over and came away very impressed. Reading through build threads assured me that this is a well-engineered and manufactured ARF. As a bonus, I'm told the kit's hardware package is actually worth using! What really put me over the edge was when Chad Northeast (Canada's top pattern pilot) took Kevin's Mytho S 125 E for a joy ride and gave it his stamp of approval. The guys that fly pattern don't get enough respect for their skill and discipline. I'm going to give it a try in hopes of becoming a better pilot. When mine arrived (carefully packed in a heavy double box) , I was immediately impressed by the quality of this ARF. Aside from the typical hour I will spend ironing wrinkles out the covering before starting assembly, everything looked great and I knew this was going to be a fun build (assembly). For those of you not familiar with pattern ships, the T-Canalyzer that you will see in the video does an amazing job of improving the quality of the airflow to the rudder making it much more effective. This plane will perform well through the first several levels of pattern competition and more than enough to let me know if I have a taste for this type of flying. As always, thanks very much for watching the video and happy flying to you!
