This Session focuses on accessibility of laboratory data. The cardinal objective of any medical laboratory is the production of accurate, reliable, and timely data (results), for individual patient management, public health and global health purposes. To support this, SAVICS developed DataToCare, a fully customizable suite of integrated applications that automatically connects to diagnostic instruments for capturing test results, merging results with patient information and consolidating these data on a centralized national server. Harvested data are made available in real-time on monitoring dashboards, transmitted to patients and health professionals for use in patient management, and summary reports are compiled for monitoring and evaluation purposes. Additionally, data is shared with maintenance technicians and logisticians for general instrument and supplies management. In this ECHO session, we introduce the concept of “connectivity framework”, a set of requirements applicable to the healthcare ecosystem to support the adoption of data-sharing principles by end users. We also introduce the SAVICS Academy which aims to transfer knowledge to local staff and ensure sustainable digital investments for adopting countries. We also share Benin’s experience using the tool on the GeneXpert platform to support their tuberculosis diagnostic network. Presenters: • Dr. Damien Bertrand, Chief Business Officer, SAVICS • Prof. Dissou Affolabi, Director, Benin Supranational Reference Laboratory
