Welcome to Cookie's Critters. In todays video, we discuss what proteins (meat) Bluetongue lizards should eat. In a future video we will cover a complete bluetonge skink diet, including the vegetables suitable for bluetongue lizards. Bluetongue lizards are omnivorous and will eat a variety of proteins and plant based materials. The meats that a Bluey eats includes, but not limited too: Tinned Cat food, Tinned Dog food, Turkey mince, Chicken Livers, Chicken Hearts, Small rodents (Pinky/Velvet mice and rats), and Insects and Snails. If feeding your Bluetongue lizard a diet of Canned Dog/Cat food, ensure that it is high grade "Grain Free" choice. In regards to canned cat food, choose non-fish type options. In a later video we will discuss the pros and cons to feeding your blue tongue skink a "Home Brew" turkey mince. Rodents, Chicken liver, and hearts should only be given to bluletongues as an occasional treat. We are reptile breeders in Western Sydney and this channel is to educate our customers and followers.
