Ten Commandments to The Beatitudes: Freedom, Law & the Heart | 4th Sunday Gospel Reflection

How well do we really know the Ten Commandments? And how deeply do we live the Beatitudes? In this Sunday homily, we reflect on two mountains, one God, and two defining moments of salvation history: Mount Sinai and the Mount of Beatitudes. On Mount Sinai, God gives the Law through Moses — commandments written on stone to guide a newly freed people. On a Galilean hillside, Jesus proclaims the Beatitudes — blessings written on the human heart. This reflection invites us to rediscover true freedom, the importance of boundaries, and the call to move from merely avoiding sin to becoming true disciples of Christ. The world defines blessing as power, success, wealth, and influence. Jesus defines blessing as humility, mercy, compassion, and surrender to God. ✨ The Commandments form us as a people. ✨ The Beatitudes form us as disciples.
