Find Melvin's gigs and House Party dates on his instagram - / melvinodoom 00:50 ingredients going in 02:50 how do you use scales? 07:50 best ever birthday cake 08:25 what's your favourite food? 09:10 don't use the whisk! 10:00 don't put the raisins in yet! 10:10 jungle stories 17:10 ball up your cookies 18:25 have you heard of House Party? 20:40 bake them up! 22:00 scary snake jungle story 25:25 they're baked! 25:35 piping challenge 28:10 he's pretty good at piping 29:20 the taste test! ________ Oat and Raisin cookies – makes 12-16 Ingredients 125g raisins 50g boiling water 150g sunflower oil, olive oil or melted coconut oil 175g golden caster sugar 1 medium egg 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1 tsp vanilla extract 130g self-raising flour ¼ tsp bicarbonate of soda ¼ tsp sea salt 300g oats 1 Line a baking tray with parchment paper, or use a silicone liner. 2 Put the raisins in a small bowl and pour over the boiling water.Soak for 20 minutes until plump. 3 Meanwhile, in a large bowl, mix the oil and sugar together.Gradually beat in the egg, along with the reserved water from the raisins, the cinnamon and vanilla. Sift in the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt, then add the oats. Stir well, then mix in the plumped-up raisins. Drop heaped tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared baking tray, making sure they are well spaced apart as the cookies will spread when cooking. 4 Preheat the oven to 180c or use the air fryer at 160°C. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Press them down gently halfway through the bake to flatten them a little. Leave to cool on the tray for 10 minutes before tucking in, or transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
