StarFight is long running game series of freeware/public-domain scifi adventure/action games (not to be confused with StarFlight). Prime examples of classic Finnish freeware and shareware games “suomipelit” from 90s and 2000s. Games combined point and click adventure gaming with 2d space shooter gameplay, with strong empahasis to cinematic SciFi-story with 3d rendered Full Motion Video cut-scenes Influenced by current scifi titles like Wing Commander 3, Mission Critical, Star Trek and Elite. StarFight V: Hell's Gate StarFight V: Hell's Gate is a pure 2d action title inspired by Wing Commander 3. Besides intensive action and enjoyable gameplay, it focuses on story delivery via short cutscenes and ingame dialogue. SF5 was the last DOS-based game of the series. In the game, the player reprises the role of James Egg, the toughest fighter ace in the universe. The First Intergalactic War ended years ago after brutally impoverishing humanity. However, just as James is about to return home, strange events begin to unfold, and his friend dies during a training flight.
