Ah what a time I had in the Lost Coast! This road trip without a shadow of a doubt changed the trajectory of my life just as much as that fender bender in the value package. Another small choice that I made in life that would end up altering the course of my life. Spending hours on the road by myself without cell phone coverage feels like a cheat code in this distracting world. Time to sit and think thoughts without influence is a beautiful opportunity that I continue to chase to this day. Perhaps that is why I enjoy riding a bike so much. As an adult, I have been very good at asking difficult questions about my life, but as an adult I have been equally good at running from the answers I find. This road trip to The Lost Coast was just that. An opportunity for me to run away from my life in Los Angles where I was slowly going bankrupt and scared as all hell! But the Lost Coast gave me time to think. This is the trip in which I started entertaining a crazy idea about living in a van so that I wouldn’t run out of money.
