From drainage planning in a basement to full building scans and heavy load clearances – this video showcases the versatility and speed of the FJD Trion SLAM scanner in real-world projects. We’ll walk you through three different reality capture workflows, each with its own challenges and smart solutions: 🚧 Use Case 1 – Drainage Planning with Basement Obstacles A tricky courtyard drainage route has to pass through a basement used as a cold storage room — packed with pipes, cables, and hanging lights. With RTK support and SLAM processing, we captured a precise vertical section from courtyard to cellar in under 15 minutes — faster than explaining the problem! 🏢 Use Case 2 – Full Building Scan with Floor-by-Floor Strategy Indoor environments are tough: narrow corridors, multiple floors, and no GNSS signal. We broke the building into small scan missions, used RTK for alignment, and leveraged vertical loop closures through windows and rooftops. With Trion Model, all scans were processed, spliced, cleaned with clip by path, and merged into a single CAD-ready point cloud. 🚛 Use Case 3 – Heavy Load Scan During Live Loading A large attachment on an oversize load might collide with an overhead pipe structure on-site. We scanned the load and the structure — and confirmed a clearance of just 4.7 cm, without any time loss in decision-making. A quick, mobile workflow that enabled maximum safety and fast approvals. 🔍 Watch how reality capture becomes a fast, reliable tool in planning and logistics. No survey team needed. Just smart scanning. 💬 Comment "workflow" to get access to our full step-by-step guide on how to export terrain models for Revit from your point cloud data! #FJDynamics #FJDTrion 📌 @FJD Trion
