The restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic has prompted psychological services to shift online. Instead of a physical setting, therapy can now be conducted online. This talk explores the efficacy of these online therapies, while also addressing any possible concerns. Strategies on how to make online therapies more effective will also be shared. Jiayong is a clinical psychologist with Annabelle Psychology. He has a deep clinical interest in child psychology and special needs. He was previously the head of the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS) Ang Mo Kio Training and Development Centre (ATDC). He is also a Senior Adjunct Lecturer at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He specialises in diagnostic assessment and therapy for neurodevelopmental conditions. Ya Wen is currently serving the community as a clinical psychologist at the Community Psychology Hub. Prior to her masters, she worked as a psychologist in MINDSville, a residential home for those with intellectual disability. She completed her placements in various clinical settings where she had the opportunity to work with clients of different ages and cultures. She has conducted therapy both face-to-face and online since the beginning of the pandemic in early 2020.
