You spent hours creating an iMovie project with 4k 60fps HDR videos from your iPhone12/13, and iMovie just happily downverted all of the Dolby Vision goodness to standard definition 30 fps on export. Not to worry. The situation is completely salvageable. This tutorial shows you how to convert that SDR iMovie proiect to a Final Cut Pro 10.6 Wide Gamut HDR Rec. 2020 project and save the output as a 10-bit HEVC Dolby Vision 8.4 HLG file using Compressor (yes, that's a bucket full of terms I learnt recently, and am now showing off :P). Now you can enjoy watching your hard work in true DV HDR on your DV HDR TV/phone/tablet/laptop/monitor and share the HDR HLG YouTube video with your audience as well! You'll also need some Final Cut Pro color correction work to do if you have SDR videos (like drone footage or selfie videos etc) in our proiect mixed up to make them look good in HDR. I have created an FCP preset which you may use for this purpose: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zf0a... This video was made using Final Cut Pro 10.6 on OSX Monterey. You can also benefit from creating a compressor setting for using hardware acceleration to encode in dolby vision 8.4. read about it here: https://support.apple.com/en-il/HT211950
