Our Delight In 1983 I attended this concert in the glorious jazz club George's Jazz Café in my hometown of Arnhem on the corner of the Hoogstraat and the Varkensstraat. A club headed by George Inge and his wife Netty. George was a taciturn man, only with too much noise during the concerts he shouted his catchphrase: SILENCE! The bartender had a special name, Jesus. Graphic designer and homedrummer Rinus Smit designed dozens of concertflyers for the Sunday afternoon concerts. A long list of celebrities have performed there, among others Art Blakey, Dexter Gordon, Arnett Cobb, Lou Donaldson, Cedar Walton, Toots Thielemans, Tete Montoliu, Jacky Terrasson, Houston Person, Johnny Griffin, Louis Hayes, Kirk Lightsey, Billy Higgins, Dannie Richmond. Hundreds of concert pictures decorated the wall of the club. This CD is the only one that has ever been recorded and released in the club. The club which no longer exists, closed in 1996.
