1800 Milenio Tequila is a 3 year aged Tequila owned by the Beckmann family. 1800 is the actual year that tequila was first aged in an oak barrel. The Milenio is aged three years in an oak barrel and then finished off for 4 - 6 months in a French oak Cognac Barrel. The Beckman family also owns Jose Cuervo. The price for this bottle is roughly $200 dollars. They promote the Jimadores, the actual farmers, who do all of the hard labor to bring the agave to the distillery to begin the process. Interesting factoid that Jose Antonio Cuervo was the first person to be given a license to make Tequila by kind Ferdinand the 6th of Spain. The shape of the bottle is supposed to represent the shape of the Mayan Indian temple. The Melino came on the market in 1975 as 1800 wanted a higher end Tequila. You will definitely get some Cognac flavor, some fruit, citrus flavor. It’s pretty light and goes down very smooth. I wouldn’t say it is over complex which isn’t a bad thing. For the day-to-day sipping Tequila, probably a bit high on the price point. I would give it an 8.5 for that reason. I would put it up against Clasa Azul and any of the Don Julio 1942. Thank you for following me and I look forward to your comments! Tequila Heffe with and “H” is out!
