In this video, I'm sharing my quick and honest review of the XTOOL D8 diagnostic tool. I don't believe this tool is worth the money, and I recommend that you don't waste your money on it. If you're looking for a diagnostic tool to use in your car, I recommend that you skip the XTOOL D8 and instead consider the Topdon Phoenix series. When you get into the professional level diagnostic tools, I found the D8 to be overly complicated folders with in folders and all the misspelled words. The layout is poor and you have to do most everything manually. Where as the Topdon is extremely easy to use, even for beginners. It took me 2.5 hours to complete all the updates on the D8 where it only took 5 minutes for the Topdon. There is a night and day difference between the two and if you are willing to spend the seven or eight hundred dollars for the D8, you wont mind spending a few extra dollars for a quality product like the Topdon Phoenix Elite. After watching so many videos and reviews about the XTOOL D8, I decided to pull the trigger and purchase it from AMAZON for $699.99. I needed it to fix two issues I had with the 2006 Pontiac Solstice that I pulled out of a farmers field. I needed to correct the milage on it and also program another key fob. I was excited to get this. After doing 2 hours of updates that are required before you even use it, I was finally ready to go. I hooked it up to the Solstice and ran a quick scan to see if any codes were present, and it came out clear, all systems were clear. From there I went to adjust the miles to the miles that should be on the car, not the used BCM. It did not work. I then went to program a new keyfob, again, did not work. From there I took it home and tried it on my Saturn Sky Redline. Ran the codes and it came up clear, tried to adjust the miles, nope. Tried to program another key fob, nope. Still seeing system failure. Finally I hooked it up to the Honda CRV and I ran the codes and found that I had a bad blower motor. Did not know that, so I guess I have to replace that soon. There was not an option to adjust miles on Honda. and the only by-directional feature that worked was to put the windows up and down. All the other features did not work. So I spent a lot of money for a tool that barely works on "some" vehicles. So I ended up sending it back! I did reach out to XTOOL via email. Before they even helped me they wanted to know four things. 1. The VIN number of the car to make sure their tool even work with it (I purchased this one because it was supposed to work with most vehicles) 2.The Serial number of the machine, then they wanted access to it so they can see whats going on remotely (not that bad of an idea) 3. Photos and video of the problem happening. 4.
