With low cloud yet again covering most of the southern edges of Victoria, my plans to do some circuit work at Colac (YOLA) and Cobden (YCDE) were scrubbed once again. But with the sun shining strong in central VIC, I had a solid plan B to duck out to Ararat for a quick lunch. In this video, you’ll join me on a short VFR flight from Lethbridge (YLED) to Ararat (YARA) in the Tecnam P92 Eaglet. No two flights are ever the same, and this one is no exception. From dealing with a glitchy oil temperature gauge, trying to understand some ambiguous radio chatter, and flying yet again through areas with smoke, this flight presented a good range of challenges.
