WPIX-TV is New York City's CW affiliate -- formerly a WB affiliate and known on-air as WB 11. This video features a partial close (from an aircheck) on the station's last night as a WB affiliate -- September 16, 2006. WPIX branded with this custom Non-Stop Music package from 1998-2010. After taking a hiatus from the package, WPIX re-adopted it, commissioning an orchestral version which it used from 2014-2017. WPIX's "WB 11" logo drew some comparisons to the World Trade Center's Twin Towers which were attacked while this branding was in use. The station also used aerial footage of the towers in its "WB 11 News at Ten" rejoin and sponsor cards. WB 11 ultimately decided to keep its logo and update the graphics to remove footage featuring the towers. This video features a photo of the "Tribute in Light" -- an art installation made up of 88 searchlights, placed close to where the World Trade Center once stood. The lights can be seen throughout New York City and in many surrounding areas.
