This is my acoustic version of Footsteps by Pearl Jam. Made with all the love and respect for this amazing band. I usually play the song half a step lower than the original key, simply because that’s where it feels right in my voice. This is a stripped-down, one-take acoustic version — raw, simple, and intentional. “Footsteps” is one of Pearl Jam’s earliest songs, originally released as the B-side to Jeremy, and later included in Lost Dogs. It’s closely connected to “Times of Trouble,” recorded by Temple of the Dog, sharing the same music written by Stone Gossard, but with lyrics written by Eddie Vedder for Pearl Jam and Chris Cornell for Temple of the Dog. The song is also the final chapter of the “Mamasan Trilogy,” telling the story from the perspective of its protagonist — imprisoned and facing his execution — which gives the lyrics their haunting, introspective weight.
