These bjj side control escapes have helped me out many times. I actually got hit with this technique when I was a blue belt and adopted it in my game. The key is just getting enough movement to make them post their hand out. After that you are free to move again. If they do not post their hand out it should be fairly easy to finish the first arm roll escape. Again the key is momentum so I have to follow through without stopping. Otherwise this Escape will be extremely hard and will become a muscle move rather than actual technique. By locking out the arm when you do the big wave you are stopping them from just squeezing you back down to the mat so be sure to really drill this detail in your head if you plan on using it!
