My perspective - The iconic suburban sprawl home - failure by design : sustainablesurvival

The solution is to replace the archaic suburban sprawl home with something that is designed to be sustainable and self-sufficient, off the traditional grid. Promoting a new grid of resource production by individual owners, i.e. micro farms, solar power, and so on. vs. The current home design in suburban sprawl is basically designed to fail and cost you money, designed to have to be plugged into a vast and complicated infrastructure... that cost you money every month and is no where near sustainability or self-sufficiency. I would argue the suburban sprawl home is closer to slavery, entrapment, serfdom, then anything else and is designed around consumerism vs. real basic human needs. Lets make the new profit motive be the most efficient and effective sustainable and self-sufficient design. I say we end standard housing monopoly with multiple choices for housing and point of use infrastructure design.
