Primary Text: Ephesians 5:14-17 Supporting scriptures: Colossians 3:23, Psalm 90:12, James 4:14 Hosea 10:12, Matthew 26:40,41 New Year’s resolutions rarely last very long, because we rely on our own strength to carry them out. As the new year begins, it’s important that we ask God what he desires of us. In this passage, Brother Paul exhorts the church to awake from sleep and arise from the dead. Are we, as Christians, spiritually sleeping, or even dead? Paul warns that this is possible. We are to seize opportunities to serve the Lord, to redeem the time afforded us, because the days are evil. Don’t be unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. We must take hold of the time; to regain possession of it from Satan. Let’s examine our hearts, our lives, our plans and our futures, and stop wasting the precious gift of time we’ve been given. Our days are numbered. Wake up!
