A quick[ish] walk-through: a [prototype] revision guide I’ve been building for my 2nd-year under-grad module. The module has a mid-term exam based on the first few weeks of taught & self-directed learning. I’ve been wondering how to give students faster access to what matters, let them quiz themselves on the right things, and keep learning ticking over between sessions. So I tried something: used Google AI Studio to scaffold a simple revision guide. After feeding it context, a few PDFs [Word files weren’t loved], and example quiz Q&As, I had a usable prototype in not much time. What it does [so far]: 'Home to Guide' sets the pace — four straight-line steps: Foundations, Topics & Notes, AI Tutor, Exam Mode. Students can see exactly how to start and level up. 'Live study stats' — questions due, overall practice %, and a one-click mock exam to keep momentum. 'Topic mastery cards' — spaced-repetition baked in, with colour badges so you instantly know where to focus. 'AI Tutor', everywhere — a floating helper on every page for quick explanations or instant quiz questions tied to the topic you’re viewing. This isn’t perfect [yet]: -AI Studio sometimes ignores requests or needs the same instruction, again… and again. Wording matters. -The push to GitHub is brilliant for transparency — I can read the code and even poke it with ChatGPT / Codex — but… -Hosting/deploy is still the faff: do I grab my own domain, run a bunch of commands… all the boring plumbing. Still, for a teaching tool and as a template students can iterate on, I’m pretty excited. It sits in that middle ground I like: not manual and not a black box — explainable, adjustable, quick to iterate. Also feels like a nudge away from relying on generic subscription apps for basic revision jobs. I’ve dropped a video below walking through the dashboard and process. hashtag#sportsscience hashtag#highereducation hashtag#edtech hashtag#AIinEducation hashtag#vibecoding hashtag#buildinpublic hashtag#spacedrepetition hashtag#assessment hashtag#UGteaching hashtag#sports hashtag#STEM hashtag#SportsEducation hashtag#SportsNutrition
