Lesser-known facts about Eve include her unique creation from Adam's rib, which means she, like Adam, wouldn't have a belly button because neither was born naturally. Her name, 'Chavah' (from which 'Eve' is derived), means "to live" or "source of life". She also doesn't have a detailed physical description in the Bible, and the fruit she ate was not necessarily an apple. Eve's name is mentioned in the Bible four times. The name appears in: Genesis 3:20: "Adam named his wife Eve, because she became the mother of all the living". Genesis 4:1: "Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain". 2 Corinthians 11:3: Paul refers to Eve's being "deceived by the serpent's cunning". 1 Timothy 2:13: The author argues for the subordination of women by stating, "Adam was formed first, then Eve".
