Jeniel Nett, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor, Division of Infectious Disease in the UW-Madison Department of Medicine presents a lecture on recurrent infections. Dr. Nett is infectious disease researcher focused finding novel approaches to understanding, detecting, and treating medical device-associated infections arising from biofilms of bacteria and fungi. Dr. Nett’s laboratory studies Candida, the most common nosocomial fungal pathogen, and how the transition to the biofilm lifestyle protects Candida from immune clearance. The title of her December 9, 2016 Grand Rounds talk is "Roots of Recurrent Infections: When to Dig Deeper." University of Wisconsin Department of Medicine Grand Rounds are presented throughout the academic year and are intended for health care professionals and medical researchers.
