Have you ever smoked a Plasencia cigar? Even if you said "no," there's a very god chance that you have. The Plasencia family cigar business is relatively low profile but here are some interesting facts: Nearly 3/4 of New World cigar manufacturers buy at least some of the leaf they put into their cigars from Plasencia farms. Plasencia's rolling operation produces 45 million cigars per year - that's right up there with Arturo Fuente, Oliva and other big cigar producers. The thing is, most of their cigars are sold under other brand names - for example, most Rocky Patel cigars made in Honduras are produced at the Plasencia factory there. Since the mid-2010's Plasencia has sold their own line of cigars, their cigars are comparable in price and quality to Padron and other premium brands.
