Composition: Ai Diem Le Arranged by: Daryl McKenzie First Violin - Heng Lin Yeap Second Violin - Li-Na Neoh Viola - David Chan Cello - Mel Jay The Friends of Music Ensemble (FoME) is a group of friends from all walks of life united by a love of music. FoME was born in the early 2000s when a bunch of people, who met whilst playing in the Orchestra of the Melbourne University Engineering Music Society (EMS), got together to play string quartet music and became good friends. Initially, the “EMS” quartet, played at Engineering Faculty and University events, later branching out to play in weddings, corporate and private functions. After leaving the EMS, FoME and their friends continued to meet semi-regularly to play chamber music in an informal setting, with the goal of giving public performances whenever appropriate opportunities arise. As an ensemble which can range from a duet to a small string orchestra with or without piano/keyboard, they aim to perform music at the highest standard possible whilst keeping it fun, enjoyable and sustainable.
