Where History Meets the Future (Historic & Family Fun) We pass by the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, which holds significant history of the nation’s founding, and catch a glimpse of the lively atmosphere at the Boston Children's Museum, full of bright imagination. What is ICA Boston? "The Museum Floating on Water": In 2006, the ICA was the first major institution to arrive in the then-desolate Seaport area, playing a leading role in transforming it into a mecca for art and hipsters. Architectural Masterpiece: This was the first building in the US designed by the famous New York architectural firm Diller Scofidio + Renfro. Its most distinctive feature is the 'Cantilever' structure, where the upper part of the building juts out 80 feet (about 24m) towards the water.
