An animated depiction of the difference between the daily life of a spoonie aka someone with a chronic health illness and an able-bodied person who does not need to worry about how much energy they are using throughout the day and if their activity will cause them pain later. Enjoy! The first Gundam is the able-bodied character and the second Gundam with red pain signals is the chronically ill one. #spoonielife #spooniesupport For my animation, I wanted to continue with the theme I have been going with so far, using elements from my personal life. This time I did a stop motion animation that juxtaposed the daily life of an able-bodied person with a spoonie, someone who has to pace their energy usage every day, all day. I also thought that this could be a good visual representation of spoon theory for those who don’t fully grasp the idea of it. Which quite frankly is most people who have not had to pace their energy or worry about such things. For my stop motion, I used clay, toys, and some slow-motion techniques. I used the stop motion pro app to do most of my filming and most of the sound effects. I used thought bubbles to give it a comic-like feel as well as to go along with the toy theme. The materials I used and sound effects were meant to make deep subject matter more accessible to those who don’t understand this concept. Ironically the process of doing the project caused me great pain and it took quite a bit of energy, and I will be in “crash mode” or a “flare” as it is known for the next few days. When a spoonie uses too much energy it means that there is none for the future days ahead. I live the scene where the one Gundam mech character is stuck sitting on the chair, lamenting the lack of spoons, pretty much every single day. Only once in a while am I able to have a good day and not “count my spoons”. So, in essence, this animation is a small peek into my daily struggles with a chronic pain disability. dance music royalty free "copyright free dance music - "rogue" by Synbranax" found at • Видео
