Luggard received veterinary attention and was brought to the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, an orphaned elephant rescue and rehabilitation center. There, Luggard received intensive medical treatments. Nine months later, Luggard is walking again. He'll eventually rejoin elephants in the Greater Tsavo Conservation Area, which is heavily protected from poachers.
