It’s my first day in Melbourne, Australia — and I stepped straight into rain, trams, confusion, and one of the coolest train stations I’ve ever seen. Within minutes of leaving my hotel, I was trying to figure out: • Is it a tram or a light rail? • Which side of the sidewalk do I walk on? • Why is Southern Cross Station so massive? • And how do I get out once I’m inside? Jet lagged and totally unprepared for the weather, I ended up drenched — but I also discovered one of the most fascinating transportation hubs in Australia.
