Too Close to Call. We thought our Elling E4 could slip under the Weesp train bridge with the radar arch lowered. Published specs say 3.45 m air draft. But whoever built our canvas framework made it taller than the arch — meaning our true height was higher than advertised. When we arrived, the clearance board read 3.85 m. The train bridge wasn’t opening. Turning back wasn’t an option. We had no choice but to dismantle what we could, lower everything, and try. This was one of those moments on the water where you hold your breath, commit, and hope you measured right.
