Abby’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Journey | 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙖 𝙁𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡 Road Trip from Iloilo to Bacolod

My daughter and her gymnastics studio were invited to join the MK Rhythmic Gymnastics National Competition in Bacolod, representing the Udtuhan Gymnastics Team of Santa Barbara, Iloilo. To support her, I flew back to the Philippines, and we turned it into a road trip to Bacolod City—also known as the City of Smiles! We took our Mitsubishi Xpander from Santa Barbara and drove to Dumangas Roro Port, where we boarded the ferry bound for Bacolod’s Bredco Port. Upon arrival, we headed straight to Fortune Town, where the team was staying. The next day, we went to Bacolod Tay Tung High School for the opening ceremonies and the start of the performance competitions. On Saturday, we returned to the venue for my daughter’s performance and the awarding ceremonies. That night, we stayed at O Hotel Bacolod. We were lucky to get a room—most hotels were fully booked because of the MassKara Festival! Dinner was fantastic, and the next morning we enjoyed their delicious buffet breakfast. Before heading back to the Roro port, we made a quick stop to pick up some famous Calea cakes—a sweet end to a wonderful trip.
