Among the topics du jour: · Burns’s appearance in New York last week at the Betting Gambling Forum during the latest Brain Economy Summit, which produced a framework for player protection globally. · A postmortem from the SBC Summit Lisbon, including Burns’s participation in a “rise of alternative betting in North American” panel with Jared Beber, Alexandre Tomic, Paris Smith, Dino Stranomitis and moderator Brett Calapp. · The mini-flurry of fines recently imposed by FINTRAC against CNE Casino, BCLC and SIGA, and the need for anti-money laundering laws to be updated in the true north strong and free to better oversee the current gambling industry landscape. · More on the Canadian Gaming Association’s response to a recent op-ed in the Canadian Medical Association Journal about sports betting advertising and youth. · The CGA’s head honcho also provided some thoughts around his conversation with iGaming Ontario’s incoming President/CEO Joseph Hillier.
