— The process to start construction on a new baseball stadium on the Las Vegas Strip took another step forward on Wednesday. Clark County commissioners unanimously approved special use permits and other zoning changes for the stadium, which is envisioned as the future home of the Athletics. The ballpark will cover about nine acres where the Tropicana Hotel and Casino once stood at the southeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue, according to planning documents filed with the county.
